Wikipedia and Supremacism

Wikipedia is evil, but not for the usual reasons of its critics.

I delight in the utility of W’s objective content. It excells in providing useful and lay-accessible information on a wide range of topics. But whenever the issues addressed are politicized, it becomes a morass of layered deception. My complaint is that a dedicated contigent, given a suitable quorum, can seize a big chunk of conceptual real estate and squat on it. I don’t see how to solve the problem.

Consider, for example, Holocaust Revisionism. There can be no question that this is a proper subset of Historical Revisionism, and that Holocaust Denial is a politically sensitive topic, which is a proper subset of Holocaust Revisionism, extensionally. But Holocaust Revisionism forwards to Holocaust Denial, in a transparent attempt to paint the aims of honest historians with the demonizing brush of Holocaust Denial, and by implication, Nazism. The baldness of this imposture is shocking, but my efforts to resolve it were very effectively repelled by a very invested contingent.

The concept of Zionism as a Satanic nexus is powerfully explanatory, and thus anti-Zionism attracts increasing audience and energy. The term Zionism is used as a peg on which to hang these social forces, which subordinate truth and justice to the aim of group supremacy for the cultural descendants of the Khazars. This is opposed to the denotative meaning of Zionism, which is essentially just advocacy of a Jewish state in Palestine, but because of the tight binding of the Zionist ideology with Ashkenazic supremacy in practice, it is easy to see how the disyllabic symbol, so easy to toss about in the mental calculus, can become a symbol for the malign influence with which it is almost coextensive, given that the latter has no similarly succinct and concise symbol.

The most overtly anti-semitic political movement in historical memory was Nazism. By associating anti-Zionism with Nazism and thus with anti-semitism, the supremacists are very effective in undermining their opposition. We all grew up steeped in the propaganda of the victors of World War II, who justified their mass murders, their war crimes, by reference to the evils of the defeated powers. The false polarity of Zionism and Nazism obscures the very real problem of brutal power politics which actually divides sheep and goats. It is a worthy effort, which is spent to dispell the veil of this deception, to the end of promoting the justice which is a necessary precondition to peace.
